Assistant Vice President for Research
Cheryl Reardon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from St. Ambrose University in 1988, and a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Development and Higher Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 1990. Cheryl’s diverse career at The University of Iowa began in the Division of Student Services in residence hall management, and includes 5 years of experience as the departmental administrator for the Department of Physics and Astronomy. In 2004, she joined the Office of the Vice President for Research and has served in a variety of administrative roles, including Senior HR representative and Budget Officer for Org 04 (VP Research) and Org 40 (Oakdale Campus).
Cheryl’s leadership experience includes service as the president of Staff Council (2004-2005), as a member of the Presidential Search Committee (2008), and as a member of two University-wide strategic planning committees (2005 and 2009). Cheryl has received the Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award (2001) and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Mary Louise Kelley Staff Excellence Award (2001).
