The University of Iowa works with the Community of Science (COS) to build and maintain electronic records of faculty/researcher expertise at UI.  The term "researcher" includes those in the creative arts and humanities, in addition to the traditional basic and applied sciences, mathematics, and engineering.  (NOTE:  COS services are available only to the UI community.)
