External Funding Opportunities are available from a range of external sources, including federal and state government agencies, private nonprofit organizations, and corporations.

Internal Funding Opportunities are available through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Office of Executive Vice President and Provost, the University’s eleven Colleges, and various centers, programs, and institutes across campus.

Who can help you find funding for your research and scholarly activities?

 

Division of Sponsored Programs staff can provide instruction on how to search for external funding.  If you are University of Iowa faculty, DSP staff can also search for funding for your project.  Please send a summary or brief paragraph describing your project to Oliva Smith or call 335-3708.

Research Development Services staff connect faculty and staff with key individuals and resources across campus, provide examples of successful proposals, host proposal development workshops, and facilitate institutional nominations and internal funding initiatives. Through an internal network of grant administrators and support staff they assist investigators and departments in cultivating external research support
 
Corporate and Foundations Relations staff identify opportunities to pursue gifts, philanthropic grants, and sponsored project support from private funders.
