Each award must normally be spent or encumbered within 12 months of receipt of award.

Reporting Requirements

Each awardee is required to submit one progress report to the Office of the Vice President for Research approximately 12-18 months from the date of the award letter. • Brief description of results to date, including scientific results, teaching impacts, and other factors related to the review criteria
  • Specific identification of sources of external support and identification of steps taken to secure such support
  • Listings of publications or draft publications resulting from the work

Regulatory Requirements

All University of Iowa research must be conducted in a manner consistent with published University policies and with regard to state and federal laws and policies. Applicants are advised to consult the University of Iowa Operations Manual, particularly chapters II:18 (Conflict of Interest) and II:27 (Research). Of course, many other sections of this document are also relevant. The complete document is available online at: http://www.uiowa.edu/~our/opmanual/

If your project requires approval from an institutional human subjects or animal care and use committee, such approval must be granted prior to funds being transferred.
