OBJECTIVES Provide summer research assistantships.
AWARD Varies
CONDITIONS Research assistant must be graduate student in the Department of Teaching and Learning.
ELIGIBILITY Tenure-track faculty in Teaching and Learning.
DEADLINE Mid-March
NOTIFICATION OF ACTION Before the end of spring semester.
HOW TO APPLY Application notification is sent to eligible faculty each February by Department DEO.

PROGRAM NAME Albert Hood Promising Scholar Fund
OBJECTIVES Support for post-prospectus graduate students for dissertation research.
AWARD Approximately $1,000
CONDITIONS One-time award; selected by faculty, based on academic performance, quality of research proposal, likely impact of research on field, and student's service to program and University.
ELIGIBILITY Currently enrolled doctoral students in the Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Student Development Program.
DEADLINE Fall semester
NOTIFICATION OF ACTION Fall semester

OBJECTIVES Offer newly hired assistant professors funds to support research-related activities.
AWARD Up to $500
CONDITIONS Must be a newly-hired assistant professor in the College; one-time opportunity only.
ELIGIBILITY Tenure-track assistant professors in College; must be in first year at UI.
DEADLINE None
NOTIFICATION OF ACTION Usually within one week of request.
HOW TO APPLY Prepare short proposal, including detailed budget.

PROGRAM NAME College of Education Research Fund
OBJECTIVES Provide seed money to College faculty for non-sponsored research projects.
AWARD Up to $500
CONDITIONS Up to $500 per project/researcher per fiscal year.
ELIGIBILITY Tenure-track faculty and P&S staff with research responsibilites in the College.
DEADLINE September 15, December 15, February 15
NOTIFICATION OF ACTION Usually within one week of request.
HOW TO APPLY Write letter/memo, explaining briefly research to be supported; detailed budget must be included.

PROGRAM NAME Iowa Measurement Research Foundation Grant Program
OBJECTIVES Support research in measurement of educational goals at elementary, secondary, and college levels.
AWARD Varies
CONDITIONS Must hold primary assignment in College; project must have direct bearing on educational measures.
ELIGIBILITY Faculty on budget of College.
DEADLINE Projects are screened as received.
NOTIFICATION OF ACTION Within one month of receipt of proposal.
