Workshop: The Craft of Scientific Presentations
This workshop has three goals:
- to teach participants effective strategies for structuring their research presentations;
- to have participants completely rethink the design of presentation slides; and
- to have participants analyze what would be their best delivery style.
About Melissa Marshall
"Well-crafted presentations can be a catalyst for change!"
Melissa Marshall, is a crusader against bullet points and an evangelist for effective slide design. She is passionate about helping scientists and engineers give outstanding presentations because science not communicated is science not done. The future health, happiness, and safety of our world depends on the innovations of scientists and engineers and she wants to help them tell the story of their work.
Marshall is a Senior Lecturer in the Communication Arts & Sciences Program at Penn State University. She is also Director of the Penn State Engineering Ambassador Program.
