Facilities

The administrative support of NNI@UI is located in the Iowa Advanced Technology Laboratory (IATL). The IATL is a multi-disciplinary, modern, 124,439 square-foot building occupying a site adjoining the Iowa River and directly north of the Iowa Memorial Union.

The Iowa Advanced Technology Laboratories (IATL) furthers The University of Iowa's tradition of encouraging inter-disciplinary research. Faculty conducting research in the IATL include groups from the Departments of Chemistry and Physics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as well as the Departments of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering . The IATL also houses the Center for Global and Regional Environmental Research and the Optical Science and Technology Center.
