Informational Session about OVPR&ED Internal Funding Initiatives

The Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development (OVPR&ED) and the Digital Studio for Public Arts & Humanities invite interested faculty and staff to an informational session about internal grant opportunities.
Presenters will provide an overview of, and answer questions about the new Internal Funding Initiatives offered by OVPR&ED that include Arts & Humanities (AHI), Major Project, Major Conferences, and Core Facilities/Shared Equipment grants.
Details about these IFI programs are available on our website . Proposals are accepted three times per year. The next deadline is in March 2014.

Research Professional Development Series The Research Professional Development Work Team is an active group whose purpose is to bring professional development opportunities to research staff. The team meets regularly to explore, plan and implement offerings that will expand the expertise and skill of research staff throughout campus.
These meetings, facilitated by the Grant Accounting Office and the Division of Sponsored Programs, are intended to improve communication and identify ways to improve business processes related to grant administration.
The Division of Sponsored Programs offers a variety of training opportunities for faculty, staff, and students involved in proposal submission and project management.
The University of Iowa Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Human Subjects Office (HSO) offer a variety of training and educational opportunities for investigators, delegates and research team members.
This weekly calendar of research seminars is maintained by the Medical Scientist Training Program.
Proposal Preparation Resources
Utilize the proposal preparation resources offered by The University of Iowa and by external sponsors in developing an application for external funding. Review examples of successful projects by searching sponsors' award databases.

The University of Iowa has an institutional subscription to Academic Research Funding Strategies' monthly electronic newsletter for faculty on how to compete successfully for research and education funding from federal agencies and foundations. HawkID/password required to log-in.
