Research Associate

IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering and the Iowa Geological Survey, at The University of Iowa, have multiple immediate openings for Research Associates in the field of geology. The candidates will contribute to the mission of IIHR–Hydroscience & Engineering and the Iowa Geological Survey by participating in collection, management, analysis, and dissemination of information describing the geologic and groundwater resources of Iowa.

IIHR-Hydroscience & Engineering is a national and global leader in laboratory and numerical water resources modeling.  The Iowa Geological Survey has a distinguished history of service and research, providing critical support to the state and influencing similar programs throughout the US.  In cooperation with the Iowa State Geologist, the United States Geological Survey, and other state and federal organizations, the Iowa Geological Survey provides critical information and guidance on utilization of the state’s geologic and groundwater resources.

A BS degree in Geology or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
