IOWA Centers for Enterprise is the umbrella organization for all UI economic development activities. The UIRF is a member organization focusing on technology commercialization

IOWA Centers for Enterprise was formed in Fall 2005 to help businesses and communities gain access to innovative University research and researchers, to key resources and training, as well as to assist faculty inventors and researchers in navigating the path from discovery to patenting to licensing and commercialization. IOWA Centers serves as a doorway to the University of Iowa for those interested in partnering in related activities. The UIRF is a member organization, with a specific focus on technology commercialization within IOWA Centers for Enterprise.

IOWA Centers for Enterprise′ new location is in the University Capitol Centre in the heart of downtown Iowa City. Organizations located or represented here are the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC), UI Office of Corporate Partnerships, the UI Research Foundation (UIRF), the UI Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the UI College Liaisons, the UI Technology Innovation Center, the UI Oakdale Research Park, and the Associate Vice President for Research - Economic Development. Collectively, these organizations comprise IOWA Centers for Enterprise.
