ANNUAL ACTIVITIES

  • Review status of UI Central Research Support facilities
  • Receive reports from Human Subjects and Animal Subjects committees
  • Hear reports at irregular intervals from the Special Assistant to the President for Governmental Relations/Associate Vice President for Research on the Washington scene and its implications for university research
  • Advise the Vice President on issues as they are brought before the Council
  • Meet with University president
  • Meet with Graduate Council (generally only if there are mutual issues)
  • Schedule retreats as appropriate
  • Other items/projects as appropriate
  • The University Operations Manual requires a minimum of two meetings per semester.  Generally, regular meetings are scheduled for September, October, November, February, March, and April.
  • Toward the end of the spring semester, the Council Chair submits an annual report of Council activities to the Faculty Senate.
