ECA: Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders

Program Summary

The Study of the U.S. Branch, Office of Academic Exchange Programs, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, invites proposal submissions for the design and implementation of twelve (12) Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders under five different themes: Civic Engagement, Global Environmental Issues, Religious Pluralism in the United States, Social Entrepreneurship, and Women‟s Leadership.


Applicant organizations may submit no more than one proposal under this competition. Applicants may submit a proposal to implement one or two Institutes.

Award Information

Approximate Total Funding: $8,640,000 - this figure represents the funding for all 12 Institutes for the base year plus two option years, pending successful performance and availability of funds. Each Institute is funded at up to $240,000 per year.

Approximate Number of Awards: up to (12) twelve

Ceiling of Award Range: $240,000 (FY-13, base year, one Institute) and $480,000 (FY-13, base year, two Institutes)

Anticipated Award Date: Pending availability of FY-13 funds, April 1, 2013.
