Walmart: State Giving Program

Program Summary

Through the State Giving Program, the Walmart Foundation supports organizations with programs that align with our mission to create opportunities so people can live better. The State Giving Program awards grants starting at $25,000 to nonprofit organizations that serve a particular state or region. 
One application per organization is allowed. 
The Foundation has adopted four areas of focus: Hunger Relief & Nutrition, Education, Workforce Development, Environmental Sustainability and Women's Economic Empowerment.  The Walmart Foundation encourages funding requests that align with at least one of its four areas of focus - programs that do not align with the four areas of focus will not be considered.
Award Information
The State Giving Program awards grants from the Foundation of $25,000 to $250,000. 
Internal Selection Procedure 
The Office of the Vice President for Research has established an internal review procedure to select the UI nominee. Applications will be reviewed according to the sponsor’s selection criteria. Consideration will also be given to UI institutional strengths and strategic directions. Potential applicants must submit, using the preselection link below, the following information:
1. A two page CV; and
2. A description of the proposed project. It should have the following elements:
The above materials must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013. The selected nominee will be asked to complete the full application package in accordance with the sponsor's deadline of Friday, August 9, 2013.
