The Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences provides funding to young investigators of outstanding promise in science relevant to the advancement of human health. The program makes grants to selected academic institutions to support the independent research of outstanding individuals who are in their first few years of their appointment at the assistant professor level.

3. A letter of support from the Department Chair/DEO (Pew Scholars are required to devote 80% of their time to the proposed research activities; therefore, it is critical that the Department Chair/DEO support the candidate's application.)
The above materials must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. The selected nominee information will be forwarded to the foundation by the July 14, 2014, deadline. The nominee will be asked to complete the full application package in accordance with the sponsor's Monday, November 3, 2014, deadline. (NOTE: the July and November deadlines may change when the 2015 Pew guidelines are released.)
