Program Summary

The mission of the Irwin Andrew Porter Foundation is to fund innovative projects that foster connections between individuals, communities, the environment and the world at large. The foundation funds in a broad range of focus areas and is most interested in projects that require and/or inspire those directly benefiting from the project to give back to their communities both during the project and into the future.

The Irwin Andrew Porter Foundation accepts proposals for single year, multi-year and matching grants.  No more than one proposal per institution is accepted.
Application for grants are made in two phases. Phase I is an online submission.  If, after the completion of Phase I reviews, your project is selected for further consideration you must be prepared to deliver a full Phase II application within 30 days of notification. Phase II applications must be received, not postmarked, within the 30 days.  Phase II applications must be submitted in writing via the U.S. postal system. 

Award Information
Grants range from $500 to $30,000 annually.
Internal Selection Procedure
The UI Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development has established an internal review procedure to select the UI nominee. Applications will be reviewed according to the sponsor's selection criteria.  Consideration will also be given to UI institutional strengths and strategic directions.  Potential applicants must submit, using the preselection link below, the following information:
1.  A two-page CV
2.  A description of the proposed project. It should have the following elements:

The above materials must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015. The selected nominee will be asked to complete the Phase I application in accordance with the sponsor's deadline of Thursday, April 30, 2015.
