eCOI Conflict of Interest Disclosures Due April 30, 2013
The UI Conflict of Interest in Research Office reminds you of the impending, April 30 deadlinefor completing the 2013 Conflict of Interest disclosure form and process.
Annual COI disclosure is required of anyone who is or will be named among the “key personnel” in sponsored project research at UI. Such individuals must complete the 2013 online disclosure form by April 30 – even if they have nothing to disclose, and even if they recently completed the 2012 form. Failure to complete the 2013 disclosure by April 30 will block the individual from submitting a UI Routing Form and render the Division of Sponsored Programs unable to endorse/submit the sponsored project grant application.
To complete the required disclosure, please:
1. Log into the electronic conflict of interest (eCOI) system at https://ecoi.uiowa.edu, arriving at the Overview screen.
2. At the bottom of the Overview screen, indicate your researcher category.
3. From there, you will be routed to a short training module on conflict of interest in research.
4. You will then begin your disclosure.
If you completed a disclosure form in 2012 and indicated a financial interest/relationship with an entity, that information has been carried over onto your 2013 form for your review and any required updates. You will also need to indicate any additional interests you have or anticipate in 2013, please.
Thank you very much for your attention to this requirement. If you have questions, please contact the Conflict of Interest in Research Office at 384-4256 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
