A new "Hawkeyes in Space" exhibit is opening Thursday at the Old Capitol Museum, and the logo features a gleeful historic image of the UI mascot sitting astride Explorer I, the first satellite the U.S. successfully launched into orbit.
The University of Iowa Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development is cosponsoring the Eastern Iowa Biotech Spotlight Tour, which showcases the pharmaceutical, chemical, nutraceutical industries that make up Iowa’s Creative Corridor biotech companies. The event, which runs Oct. 4-5, is free and open to the public though registration is required.

In the wake of the historic 2008 flood, which damaged more than 2.5 million square feet of space on the University of Iowa campus, neither the UI nor Hancher skipped a beat. Chuck Swanson, Hancher’s executive director, calls that an accomplishment driven by spirit and passion.
