UI students develop app to improve public speaking—without imagining the audience in their underwear
A team of Iowa students started Speeko, a voice-analytics company that uses artificial intelligence to help individuals avoid unfortunate public speaking experiences by measuring and improving their verbal communication skills.
To help ensure that University of Iowa endeavors are free of potential or actual conflicts of interest, all key UI faculty and staff members are required to complete an Annual Disclosure of Outside Professional Activities and Interests by April 30 of each year.
The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has launched a Web page with information for University of Iowa researchers and scholars wondering how the partial shutdown of the federal government, which took effect Dec. 22, might impact their work in the labs and in the field.
The page, at https://research.uiowa.edu/shutdown, will be updated as new information becomes available.
The Research Development Office, a unit of the Office of the Vice President for Research, will host a Research Services Fair on April 11, 3:00-6:00pm, in the Mediacom Outdoor Room of the Kinnick Press Box.
The University of Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates will become part of the Office of the Vice President for Research, effective Feb. 1. ICRU promotes undergraduate involvement in mentored research and creative projects at the UI.
