The University of Iowa Office of Research and Economic Development is seeking tenured or clinical faculty members to apply for an administrative research fellowship.
This fellowship is intended to foster deeper intellectual partnerships between the office and the faculty; provide a development opportunity for faculty members to explore administrative roles and acquire skills and knowledge that will better prepare them to serve in academic administration in the future; and assist the office with special projects across the research enterprise.
In addition to working on mutually identified projects, the fellow will participate as a peer in meetings of the office’s senior staff, the Research Council, and other governance groups.
Each fellow will serve two to three years in this role. The fellowship will replace an appropriate portion of the faculty member’s normal teaching or clinical responsibilities.
Required qualifications include a terminal degree in an academic discipline; rank of Associate Professor or Professor at the University of Iowa (clinical or tenure track); strong record of service to the UI community; strong record demonstrating a high degree of judgment, diplomacy & confidentiality; strong record of scholarship in their academic discipline and successful grantsmanship; and experience working with senior level collegiate and central administration (preferred).
Applicants should submit a letter describing their interests in the fellowship, a CV and two letters of reference (one from their DEO and one from a colleague). Application materials are due April 1.
