A hands-on tour of University of Iowa research and economic development activities

Legislators in the Lab

The University of Iowa Office of Research & Economic Development, working with the Office of Govermental Relations, began hosting Legislators in the Lab tours in November 2014 to provide legislators with the opportunity forĀ  up-close, interactive tours of University of Iowa research and economic development activities.

The inaugural Legislators in the Lab tours included a chance to see and drive the National Advanced Driving Simulator and ride in an autonomous vehicle; a visit to UI ProtoLabs, where university and community innovators are transforming ideas into 3-D prototypes; and the Stephen Wynn Institute for Vision Research, where researchers are working to accelerate the eradication of heritable human blindness.
