Central Microscopy Research Facility

The CMRF provides a wide variety of microscopy techniques for materials and biomedical investigators, an experienced staff and support for the beginner and experienced investigator. As one of the leading university microscopy facilities in the nation, the microscopy team is ready to support your research program.

Fermentation Facility

The Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing offers an experienced professional staff and state-of-the-art fermentation and purification facilities to perform confidential contract services.

High Resolution Mass Spectrometry Facility

The HRMSF performs high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) experiments or accurate mass measurements to determine the elemental compositions of new synthetic molecules and natural products. They can also perform tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) experiments, which are used to assist in the structure determination of unknown molecules.  The HRMSF has four available open access instruments (both GC-MS and LC-MS) for on-campus researchers who have been trained by the HRMSF staff.

High Throughput Screening Facility

Located in Room 310 in the College of Pharmacy, The University of Iowa High Throughput Screening Facility (UIHTS) is currently equipped to perform screening of small molecule libraries in 96, 384 and 1536-well format using a robotic liquid handler integrated with plate reader detection.

The Iowa Center for Research, Exploration, and Advanced Technology in Engineering and Sciences (Iowa CREATES), the administrative body that manages the MATFab facility, is an intellectual hub for researchers to build synergy among departments and disciplines to support collaborative research and identify priority research areas in the physical sciences and engineering.

UI Pharmaceuticals

The University of Iowa Pharmaceuticals is the largest and most experienced university-affiliated FDA-registered pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the United States.
