Without financial backing, faculty entrepreneurs with great ideas for taking a product or service to market won’t get very far.
Sometimes, researchers need a helping hand to close the distance between a brilliant idea and a commercially viable product, service, or business.
That’s where the University of Iowa’s GAP Funding Program comes in.
The University of Iowa Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development and John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center will have a robust presence this week during EntreFEST 2015 in downtown Iowa City, including a presentation by Vice President Dan Reed on “Extreme Computing: The Disruptive Rise of Clouds” at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Additionally, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development (OVPR&ED) will sponsor The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) Tech Town Hall Iowa City during EntreFEST.
Clare John Fairfield, Chairman of the Venture Capital Institute, will deliver a talk titled "Pulling Back the VC Curtain: An honest look at how the venture capital industry really works" on Tuesday, May 26 at Noon in C44-A GH.
