The Translational Research Incubator (TRI) is a unique business space on the University of Iowa’s campus whose goal is to provide an environment for early, research-based companies to accomplish critical milestones toward commercialization. TRI houses four innovation-based biomedical or life science startup companies focused on commercializing technology developed at the University of Iowa. Within TRI, there is dedicated space for cell culture including appropriate equipment and instruments as well as instruments for physical and chemical analysis. TRI tenants also have access to the University of Iowa’s core facilities, providing substantial resources for early stage companies. The University of Iowa’s UI Ventures team is located on-site to provide in depth business support to each company and further accelerate their success.
Please use Gust to apply for tenancy. Companies must be founded by University of Iowa faculty or staff and have an active option/standstill/license with UIRF to qualify.
IP Acceleration Program
The OVPRED IP Acceleration Program is also co-located in the TRI space. IP acceleration involves targeted investment and outcome-driven development in a small number of promising invention disclosures. The disclosures are selected in consultation with the IP Evaluation Council with a goal to yield greater dividends to both faculty and the university.
