Join us on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 for a visit with Dr. Robert Swap, the Associate Division Director for Mission Planning in the Earth Sciences Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
This event will be focused on discussion of opportunities in the NASA Earth Science Division. Come ready to talk about how your work might fit into these topics or other Earth Science focus topics.
Event Information
This visit will take place on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the University Capitol Centre (UCC). This is an in-person only event for attendees. The UI Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) will introduce this program, NASA Earth Science's priorities, the concept call and review process, and have your questions answered.
Topics are not limited to but could include:
- Soil moisture
- Agriculture
- Air quality
- Planetary boundary layer studies
- Fertilizer application and runoff
- Crop health
- Data assimilation
- Modeling
Agenda
- 2–2:30 p.m. - Dr. Swap will present on the future direction of missions, analyses, and outreach. He will discuss opportunities to engage with existing NASA ground-based networks.
- 2:30–3:30 p.m. - Discussion on potential Midwestern collaborations on themes related to potential opportunities and studies. Session will close with thoughts related to the next Earth System Sciences Decadal Survey.
