About the Program

The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports engaging a diverse pool of undergraduates in paid research experiences. There are two mechanisms for funding:

• REU Sites are comprised of independent proposals that bring a small collection of students (10-12) together to conduct guided research in a single area of study. This could be tied to a specific department or a field of study cutting across departments or colleges.
• REU Supplements can be included as a supplement to a new or current NSF-funded research project.

Event Information

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and Research Development Office (RDO) are hosting a panel session on Tuesday, March 5 from 12:00-1:00 pm in the University Capitol Centre (UCC).

Join us for a compelling panel discussion featuring recent awardees of the NSF REU program, including both Sites and Supplement funding. This session offers insights into the preparation and submission of successful NSF REU applications. Panelists will share their firsthand experiences navigating the application process and offer strategies for crafting compelling proposals. From selecting impactful research topics to aligning with NSF priorities, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the nuances that contribute to a competitive application.
