The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has formed a search committee to recruit part-time associate vice presidents for research who will oversee OVPR’s work on behalf of the arts, humanities and social sciences, as well as the biomedical, mathematical, and physical sciences. 

These positions will divide many of the current responsibilities of former Associate Vice President for Research Ann Ricketts and Senior Associate Vice President for Research Rich Hichwa. Ricketts returned to the Division of Sponsored Programs effective December 1, and Hichwa is retiring at the end of the spring 2022 semester.

For the new positions, OVPR is seeking tenured faculty for part-time appointments. While one person will likely oversee the arts, humanities, and social sciences, one or two part-time AVPRs may be hired to work with the biomedical, mathematical, and physical sciences, depending on the experience of candidates in the applicant pool. OVPR’s goal is for the positions to start July 1, 2022, however earlier start dates may be negotiated.

The search committee is chaired by Donna Hammond and Chris Merrill and includes Allan Guymon, Tammie Walker, and Dave Wiemer. The committee is staffed by Wendy Loney and Mike Weaver.
