Cheyanne Wandrey, marketing assistant for the Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing (CBB), has received one of eight Certificates of Distinction through the Pomerantz Center’s Student Employee of the Year program. She earned this award because of her strong initiative, professionalism, and consistently high-quality work.
“Despite only working four hours per week, Cheyanne has made a significant impact at our facility,” said Debbie Ross, director of finance for the CBB and Wandrey’s supervisor. “She has elevated our marketing, strengthened our communications, and enhanced our professional visibility.”
Over the past year, Wandrey has led several projects to strengthen CBB’s reputation and outreach. Most notably, she revitalized the organization’s LinkedIn presence, transforming it from a largely inactive page into an active platform with growing reach and engagement.
“A typical day starts with reviewing the previous week’s performance and checking the content calendar,” said Wandrey. “It might surprise people how much strategy goes into content creation. It’s not just about posting—it’s about analyzing performance, understanding your audience, and aligning content with broader organizational goals.”
Wandrey hopes to pursue a career in marketing within the healthcare or science industries. The opportunity to combine her interest in those fields with her passion for marketing is what initially drew her to CBB.
“I’ve enjoyed using creativity in my work, and my role at CBB lets me do that every day,” she said. “It’s even more rewarding knowing that my efforts contribute to a larger mission — advancing the biocatalysis field and supporting the development of life-changing medications.”
Wandrey will graduate in May with a degree in marketing and a minor in psychology
