Noah Vásquez is exploring innovative ways to integrate point-of-care ultrasound into physician assistant (PA) education. Ultrasound is becoming a standard tool in clinical practice, but many programs lack the resources to teach it effectively. Vásquez’s research evaluates strategies for curriculum design and faculty development to make ultrasound training more accessible and impactful. During his own clinical rotations, he had an opportunity to see how useful ultrasound could be for PAs woking directly with patients.

“I feel I have a better understanding of the research method and feel more confident in my analysis of academic papers, allowing me to be more successful in my program,” says Vásquez.

His project synthesizes emerging literature, institutional experiences, and national trends to identify practical solutions for PA programs. After graduation, Vásquez plans to practice as a PA before transitioning into education, helping train future clinicians to deliver high-quality, technology-enabled care.
