The administrative and regulatory challenges related to university research and scholarship are vast—and grow even more daunting when the work involves international partners.

To help answer questions related to international research collaboration—from travel and disclosure requirements to invention reporting and federal regulations—the University of Iowa Division of Sponsored Programs has launched an International Engagement resource web page.

“This page offers detailed guidance for researchers, scholars, and project directors engaged with, or intending to engage with, collaborators from around the world,” DSP Director Wendy Beaver said. “This page offers a wealth of information, from resources at the university to relevant notices from agencies and organizations pertaining to international engagement.”

Beaver said the page will be updated regularly as rules and resources related to international collaboration change and grow.

The Division of Sponsored Programs is part of the Office of the Vice President for Research, which provides researchers and scholars with resources, guidance, and inspiration to secure funding, collaborate, innovate, and forge frontiers of discovery that benefit everyone.
