Rylie Ulett is working at the forefront of cancer research, designing polymer-based nanoparticles that deliver immune-stimulating signals directly to tumors. Her goal is to optimize these formulations to help the immune system recognize and destroy cancer cells, paving the way for next-generation cancer immunotherapies.

“Being involved in research at the University of Iowa has helped me become more confident in new situations, improved my understanding of experimental design, and made me excited for a future in research,” says Ulett.

Through her work with Aliasger Salem’s research group, Ulett is gaining direct experience in nanomedicine, drug delivery, and cancer biology while contributing to research that could transform patient care. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in pharmaceutical research and development, advancing innovative therapies that improve lives.
