

The University of Iowa Research Foundation (UIRF) has awarded $625,000 in gap funding to 10 faculty researchers whose projects have a strong potential for commercialization.
These include proposals for a light-driven desalination unit, a device for detecting delirium in patients, and a news aggregator than can assess the political bias of news articles and aggregate content according to users’ interests.
The Innovation EXPO 2015 will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Coralville Marriott Hotel.
The event, sponsored in part by University of Iowa Ventures and the UI Tippie College of Business's John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, connects entrepreneurs, creatives, financial resources, and business leaders in Iowa to help grow more new business, create jobs, and stay vibrant and globally competitive.
